Closed-circuit television (CCTV), is a collection of cameras performing video surveillance. Simply, it is the use of television cameras for surveillance. A video monitoring and security system used to provide continuous traffic monitoring by the facility operator along the length of the facility and particularly at points of entry and tolling locations.
It differs from broadcast television in that all components are directly linked via cables or other direct means.
CCTV is a visual surveillance technology designed for monitoring a variety of environments and activities. CCTV systems typically involve a fixed communications link between cameras and monitors. Different cameras may allow panning of an area called a “tour” or a stationary view allowing maximum surveillance. |
